“Trauma decontextualized in a person looks like personality. Trauma decontextualized in a family looks like family traits. Trauma decontextualized in a people looks like culture.”

Kendra F. Dunlap, LMFT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and psychotherapist with over 18 years of experience supporting individuals in their journey of personal exploration, healing, and transformation. My approach is grounded in providing culturally responsive and trauma-informed care, recognizing the profound impact that trauma—whether large or small—can have on a person’s ability to navigate life and cope with challenges.
I welcome all to my practice and am deeply committed to creating a safe and compassionate space for individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am especially passionate about working with those who are new to therapy, as well as members of BIPOC and marginalized communities. My goal is to destigmatize mental health, foster resilience, and empower my clients to embrace wellness and growth on their own terms.
I bring a strength-based and collaborative approach to my therapeutic practice. I integrate IFS (Internal Family Systems), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), attachment/relational, CBT, and sensorimotor concepts and techniques to inform my therapeutic work.
